Well, remeber that interior design is not just limited to homes. I work at an architectural/ design firm and we have an interiors department and they they work on buildings ranging form larger companies to small local business. Depending on what type of company you work for, you probably will not be designing homes.

I am extremely interested in Culinary Arts, and would love to pursue that along with Management aspect of the Arts of Culinary. I love to cook and want to share my passion with the world.
I have also been looking for scholarships, I am a Junior in High School and would like to attend a college, 2 or 4 year, prefer 4 year where I could study Culinary Arts.

I find the Interior design and Fashion merchandice interesting but somehow I cannot see myself ten ears down the road designing the inside of someones home.

I am very intrested in pre-law and hopefully the information that i have gotten from CAPPEX will help me persue my dream. This would be very helpful to me if i could find a college that studies that major…(somewhere out of state GRAMBLING UNIVERSITY)

Although it is wise for students to decide on their major early in their high school years, it is not the best idea to have high schoolers be forced to choose a major. Majority of these schools tell their counselors that the student may only change their choice once, which I think stunts the student’s ability to actually be able to choose their major or career wisely. Furthermore, college is not for everyone. High school is for teens to learn about the different opportunities available after high school, whether they want to continue their education or work is entirely up to them. Besides, even if they do go to college with a decided major, they may change it in the middle of their college years like many other college students. I think the important role of a Counselor is to provide students information about recommended courses for their major in college, this would definitely help many high school students because certain majors are harder to get into than others.
